What do you need to grow in your faith right now?

The faith communities of our congregations and Aggie Lutherans seek to help one another grow in our discipleship.

Prayer, Bible Reading, Worship, Service, Giving, Witness, and Relationships are all marks of an active and growing Christian life.

Relationships

Aggie Lutherans Treehouse, meets weekly on Monday nights, 7:00 p.m to 8:30 p.m. at Peace Lutheran Church fellowship hall. This gathering values Christian friendships - we sing, learn, prayer and spend time in small group discussions getting to know one another better and helping one another apply our faith to daily life.

Bible Reading

+ A Bible-based discussion is often a part of Treehouse

+ Student-led Bible Studies are offered during the semester. Check the Events link for times and places

Worship

+ Sunday morning worship, 8:15a and 10:45a at Peace Lutheran Church

+ Your home congregation when you are home for the weekends.

Prayer

+ Choose a time every day to prayer or a landmark that you pass on the way to school to remind you to pray.

+ Use the Christ in our Home devotional booklets as a source for daily prayer.

+ Join the Aggie Lutherans yahoo groups list and be a part of those who pray and offer prayers for others.

Service

+ Volunteer at the congregation where you worship to read lessons, offer special music, assist in Sunday School, sing in the choir,  assist with communion, lead a small group Bible Study, etc.

+ Choose an organization that does effective service, learn more about its work and find an volunteer activity you can do.

+ Habitat for Humanity - Peace is almost always involved in a Habitat project and would welcome your assistance.

+ Participate in the Aggie Lutheran-sponsored service projects during the semester.

Giving

Even though, college students have a limited amount of discretionary funds, the discipline of financial giving is an important part of discipleship. Choose a percent of the funds you have to spend on personal items, or the cost of one music CD or one meal to offer to God as thanksgiving for what you have been given.  Put the offering in the offering plate where you worship or choose another charitable organization to support while you are in college or change organizations each semester. If your parents are giving you the personal spending money, discuss with them the amount and how much you would like to use to develop the Christian discipline of giving.

Witness

+ Invite a friend to worship one Sunday morning

+ Invite a friend to Aggie Lutherans Treehouse

+ Be willing to engage in conversation with others on mattes of faith.

+ Wear an Aggie Lutheran t-shirt or other shirts that let people know that you are a Christian and member of a Christian community.

+ Learn how to talk about your faith with joy and confidence without being disrespectful of others.
